Higher Education

In most developed countries, continuing your education is an important step in an individual's life. Higher education primarily focuses on a specific content area in which an individual wants to become more knowledgeable after his or her secondary education.

Higher education and training usually takes place at a college or university institution. Much of the education taught at such schools is based on theoretical expertise, rather than actual experience and practice. Higher general education might be contrasted with vocational schools and trade and technical institutions, which focus on both the practice and the theory. However, most relevant education is included within the realm of higher education, and many qualifications are strongly focused on professions or vocations like medicine, science, social work, law, etc.
