Instructional Technology

According to the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) Definitions and Terminology Committee, instructional technology is "the theory and practice of design, development, utilization, management, and evaluation of processes and resources for learning." Instructional technology is often referred to as a part of educational technology. While instructional technology refers to the systems and processes of instructional learning, educational technology includes other systems used in the processes of developing the human mind and refining human capability.

Professors and teachers worldwide are quickly turning to electronic media and the internet to aide in the presentation of school curriculum and relative content. Whether you are a preschool teacher or a college professor, instructional technology can play a major part in your teaching approach. Teaching through blogging and other implementations of instructional technology are exploding onto the scene as educators are recognizing the end result is an energized youth who enjoys learning in this way. Therefore, student achievement rises exponentially.

With the evolution of the internet and computers, the world is literally at your fingertips. The ideas are endless and the possibilities are infinite. Imagination truly comes into play with instructional technology - if you can think it, you can almost certainly do it.
