K-12

Public schools in the United States encompass a child’s first years in kindergarten and lasts through his or her twelfth grade year in high school. K-12 education represents the schooling that children will receive for primary and secondary educational levels.

During these developmental years in a child’s life, the child undergoes tremendous change. Children in kindergarten and first grade are just beginning to read and write, while teenagers in eleventh and twelfth grade are learning to research topics and think on their own independently from constant teacher guidance. This educational process is critical to our society in that it enables a constant workforce flow. Thousands of jobs have been created due to the vast public education system the government has set in place. The systematic K-12 concept is important to educators nationwide as it creates order and structure to the nation’s most important resource- its children.
